l NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

Month: August, 1987 McGuire Unit 1 began the month of August operating at 100% full power. The unit was taken off line at 0353 on 8/14 to add oil to the "D" Reactor. Coolant Pump.

The unit remained off line, following the Reactor Coolant Pump oil addition, to perform work on the N-31 Source Range Detector, and then to repair a failed letdown orifice. The unit returned to service at 1631 on 8/21, and following two power holds for nuclear instrumentation calibration, reached 100% full power at 2015 on 8/22. The unit operated at 100% until 0910 on 8/28, at which time the unit began to coastdown due to End of Cycle Life Core Physics.
