MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SWITCHYARD BATTERIES - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE (TAC 64476)

Re: Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 10 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-21 for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1. This amendment is in response to your application dated January 21, 1987. This amendment removes reference to switchyard batteries from technical specification (TS) sections 3.9.A.5, 4.9.B.2, and 4.9.D. The staff concurs that the maintenance responsibility for the switchyard batteries belongs with the New London Substation Maintenance Department.

A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is enclosed. The Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular biweekly Federal Register notice.
