Response to the 6/19/87 interrogatories. Brazos is concerned about the completeness and accuracy of some of the responses.

For instance, the response to Question No. 12 implies, incorrectly, we believe, that TU Electric presently adheres to all positions set forth in responses to NRC inspection reports.

Applicants' response to Question No. 8 appears to be incorrect, even assuming that " fundamental engineering principles" refers to such formulae as f=ma, inasmuch as there have been instances where pipe support mass was ignored in various stress and seismic analyses. Brazos has not completed its analysis.of Applicants' Response, however, and will not be able to do so within the ten days called for in the interrogatory instructions. We ask you, i

as Brazos' licensing counsel, to procure for us a two week extension.

We would gladly provide you with a draf t supplemental response for comment and discussion prior to filing it with the NRC if you think that such coordination will be in the best interest of the Project. However, we must note that we did not find your comments on our previous responses to be either constructive or illuminating, and we are quite concerned that you would suggest in a pleading filed with the NRC that Brazos' actions might be "for a purpose other than to fulfill (its]
