This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. D. E. Norman and
D. L.' Garrison of this office during the period June 22, 1987 thrcugh July 10,
i
1987, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permits CPPR-128 and
'CPPR-129 for the South Texas Project, and to the discussion of our findings
'
with members of your staff during the inspection.
'

Areas examined during the inspection included a followup of findings identified
in NRC Inspection Reports 50-498/87-21 and 50-498/87-36, review of actions in
regard to Incident Review Committees 301 and 364, Part 21 No. 87-16 and 87-29,
and'IE Information Notice 86-29. Within these areas, t.he inspection consisted
of selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews
with personnel, and observations by the NRC inspectors. The inspection
findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection,'no violations or deviations were
identified.
