intention to submit'the plant specific design features for our ATWS Mitigation System Actuation Circuitry (AMSAC) by July 31, 1937. Our letter of July 30,.

1987, Serial No. 85-316E, notified you of a delay until August 28, 1987 for the

-submission-of this information. 'This delay was necessary to allow additional time for management review as management attention had been diverted -to recovery from the July 15, 1987 Steam Generator Tube Rupture event at Unit 1.

Management review of the plant specific design features of the AMSAC has now

-been ' completed,and a number of design changes have been identified.

Accordingly, additional time is-needed to incorporate these changes into the-design description document and conduct the necessary reviews.

Therefore, we now intend to submit the plant specific design features for our AMSAC by September. 30, 1987.
