BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NO. 2 DOCKET NO. 50-324/ LICENSE NO. DPR-62 ATWS-ARI TESTING COMMITMENT Gentlemen:
A conference call was held on August 6,1987 concerning the testability of the Anticipated Transient Without Scram (ATWS) Alternate Rod Injection (ARI) system for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2. In that call, the NRC requested a commitment from Carolina Power & Light Company to perform preoperational tests on the ARI system to verify blowdown times. The Company hereby commits to perform preoperational tests on the ARI system to verify blowdown times. These tests will be included in the installation procedures.
