09/05/1987 13:05 EEB-CENTRAL STAFF P.04 SQN SI-7.1 Page 1 of 2 Revision 10 1.0 SCOPE 1.1 This test will verify operability of the three remaining operable diesel generators (D/G) prior to taking a D/G out of service or within one hour after a D/G is declared inoperabic, and every eight hours thereafter, by verifying that the D/Gs start from (1) ambient l conditions and accelerate to at least 900 rpm in < 10 seconds. The voltage shall be > 6210 volts and i 7590 volt.s. The frequency shall be > 58.8 hertz and 3 61.2 hertz. 1.2 This test will further verify operability of remaining ac sources by verifying correct breaker alignments and indicated power availability and that the D/Gs are aligned to provide standby power to the associ-ated shutdown (SD) boards. 1.3 This test may also be used for post maintenance testing and trouble shooting runs. 1.4 This test satisfies SR 4.8.1.1.1.a, 4.8.1.1.2.a.1,.2, .4.e,.6, A and 4.8.1.2 (partially) on a conditional basis. 1.5 This test is applicable in ALL modes and may be performed in any mode. I (1) Ambient starts are required to be performed on a frequency of once per 184 days. See SI-7.2 to determine if ambient start is required.

After a trip of the D/G from high crankcase pressure, DO NOT open top deck cover or handhole until the engine has cooled for two j hours to prevent the possibility of an explosion from hot oil vapors. l 4.8 Maintain D/G in accordance with S01-82.1C (82.2C),(82.3C) or (82.4C) i while diesel is running. l 5.0 SPECIAL TEST EQUIPMENT.
