SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR JULY 1987 The plant operated at 94 percent power until July 9 at 1604 hours0.0186 days 0.446 hours 0.00265 weeks 6.10322e-4 months when a power reduction to 53 percent power was initiated due to a cooling tower pump discharge valve switch failing in the closed position. At 2002 hours0.0232 days 0.556 hours 0.00331 weeks 7.61761e-4 months the plant began to escalate in power. At 0112 hours0.0013 days 0.0311 hours 1.851852e-4 weeks 4.2616e-5 months on July 10, the plant initiated another power reduction due to a low level alarm on the upper oil reservoir of "D" PCP.

At 0121 hours0.0014 days 0.0336 hours 2.000661e-4 weeks 4.60405e-5 months , the reactor was manually tripped. The reactor was again critical at 2018 hours0.0234 days 0.561 hours 0.00334 weeks 7.67849e-4 months on July 12 and placed on line at 0533 hours0.00617 days 0.148 hours 8.812831e-4 weeks 2.028065e-4 months on July 13.

The plant escalated up to 94 percent power when at 1322

hours on July 14 the reactor was manually tripped due to a loss of "R" Bus, F

e1 caused by a faulty-bushing onaa.Startup-Transformer. The-plant returned to criticality at 1212 hours0.014 days 0.337 hours 0.002 weeks 4.61166e-4 months on July 25 and placed on line at 0243 hours0.00281 days 0.0675 hours 4.017857e-4 weeks 9.24615e-5 months July 26.

The plant escalated up to 95 percent power until a power reduction to 56 percent power was initiated at 1700 hours0.0197 days 0.472 hours 0.00281 weeks 6.4685e-4 months on July 27 to repair a control valve on the moisture separator drain tank. The plant returned to 100 percent power on July 28 and remained at this power level through the end of the reporting period.
