HUB Incorporated Docket No. 99900866/87-01 NOTICE OF NONCONFORMANCE During an inspection conducted on November 16-20, 1987, the implementation of the Quality Assurance (QA) Program at the HUB Incorporated facility in Tucker, Georgia was reviewed with respect to the supply of materials to nuclear utilities.

The applicable QA Program requirements are Appendix B to ~10 CFR Part 50,10 CFR

(

Part 21, and Hub's QA Manual (QAM), Revision 9, dated February 13, 1987. Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that an activity at the HUB facility was not conducted in accordance with these commitments. This item is listed below.

Criterion VIII of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 requires that measures be established to identify materials by heat number on the item or on records traceable to the item to prevent the use of incorrect material.

Contrary to the above, heat number 60744 and heat number 62879 were marked on the same pipe which results in loss of traceability if the incorrect heat number, 62879, is used to locate records. (87-01-01) l l
