SUBJECT:

MEETING TO DISCUSS PHYSICAL SECURITY NRC staff requested this meeting to enable an assessment as to whether or not i the license condition on physical security incorporated into the low power license issued on August 21, 1987 was being met. The staff also requested that the licensee present their future plans for improving performance related to security. The mr.eting notice is provided as Enclosure 1 and the list of attendees as Enclosure 2.

Discussion:

s The licensee made a presentation in which data related to the performance of the various security related systems were provided and plans were described for future improvements. The staff noted that the performance is improving as additional experience is accumulated. The staff concluded that the license condition in the low power license was being met. The licensee _was requested to document as formal commitments the indicated future improvements. The staff informed the licensee that the information submitted would be considered in the context of any other license conditions which might be appropriate for the full power license. The staff has determined that the hand-out of the meeting should be protected from public disclosure as safeguards information.
