CONTAINMENT INTEGRATED LEAK RATE TEST SCHEDULE' l
(10 CFR 50, APPENDIX JL (TAC-66639).
The purpose of this letter is to approve.your proposed schedule for the next Integrated leak Rate Test '(ILRT), i.e., the Cycle 8 refueling outage.
In letter #5211-87-2183' dated October 27, 1987, NRC. approval was requested of the ILRT schedule for TMI-1. Approval is required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix J, III.A.6(a). The staff is not, aware of any special circumstances at the plant which would reauire more frequent testing as a result of this isolated case of failure to meet acceptance criteria.
Certain leaking valves, which were substantial contributors to the leakage, were repaired subsequent to the test and should reduce leakage in the next test. Your proposed schedule of Cycle 8 refueling outage'for the next ILRT is, therefore, approved. However, as your letter correctly notes, should the ILRT '# ail to meet acceptance criteria on the next test, more frequent testing will be required, pursuant to Appendix J, III.A.6(bl.
