Discussion k

In accordance with 10CFR50.55(a)(g)(5)(i), Amendment 98-01 to the Pilgrim inservice Inspection (ISI)

Program is submitted for your review and approval. This amendment incorporates changes to the Pilgrim ISI Program as submitted in Reference 1 and reflects changes as presented to the NRC in Reference 2,3,4, and 5 as well as NRC approval of the plan presented in Reference 6. We are request!1g deletion of penetrations X-21, X-46E, and X-228A from the ISl Plan based on a modification that will be performed in Refueling Outage 12 to cap and seal weld the piping lines at these penetrations. Piping associated with penetration X-46E is being evaluated for use by another plant modification. If the piping line passing through penetration X-46E is modified other than by cutting and capping, it will be included in the ISI Program which may require additional relief. This amendment also includes Pilgrim Relief Request (PRR) 13, Revision 2, incorporating ASME Code Case N-522 with alternative provisions from draft Regulatory Guide DG-1050. Additionally, this amendment includes

(

minor clarifying changes to PRR-11, Revision 2 which incorporates a reference to periodic IST testing 9908270102 990820 PDR ADOCK 05000293 l
