Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. C. A. Hackney of this office

during the period November 16-20, 1987, of activities authorized by NRC

Operating License NPF-42 for the Wolf Creek Generating Station and to the

discussion of our findings with Mr. B. D. Withers and other members of your

staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included:

notifications and

communications, changes to the emergency preparedness program, and operational

status of the emergency preparedness program.

The inspection findings are

documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to prev'iously

identified inspt: tion findings.

The status of these items is identified in

paragraph 2 of the enclosed report.
