Revision 6 of the Radioactive Material Packaging and Transportation Quality Assurance Program - (PTQAP)
Dear Ms. Eng:
USEC hereby submits, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval, Revision 6 to the Radioactive Material Packaging and Transportation Quality Assurance Program (UE0-1041) for PGDP and PORTS. This program is referenced in the NRC Quality Assurance Program Approval for Radioactive Material Packages No. 0832. Enclosure 1 provides a description of the proposed change and the basis for this change. Enclosure 2 provides the page removal / insertion instructions for the proposed revision. Enclosure 3 contains the proposed revision to the PTQAP.
The proposed change is administrative in nature. Revision 6 revises section 2.1.1 to remove reference indicating that USEC is a wholly owned corporation of the United States due to the privatization of USEC. It also removes reference to the lease agreement between USEC and the l
Department of Energy (DOE) for operation of the gaseous diffusion plants (GDPs) and reference to USEC's use of an operating contractor, since this information is redundant to that contained in the Safety Analysis Report (SAR).
