Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant 2807 West County Road 75 Monticello, MN 55362 July 22,1998 US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Inservice Inspection (ISI) Examination Summary Report - Refueling Outage No.19 Enclosed for your information are four copies of the Inservice inspection (ISI) examination summary report for the 1998 Monticello refueling outage (Refueling Outage No.19). The 1998 outage represented the second inspection conducted for the second period of Monticello's third 10-year ISI interval.
The enclosed report identifies components examined, the examination methods used, the examination number, and summarizes the results. The examination plan focused on: 1) the pressure retaining components and their supports associated with the reactor coolant system and associated systems classified as ASME Classes 1 and 2,2) reactor vessel examination,
- 3) system pressure testing, and 4) snubber inservice testing. All anomalies were either corrected or an engineering evaluation was performed to accept "as-is" conditions.
As stated in section 3.0 of the attached inspeviion report, a relief request is being submitted under separate cover to address components with limited examinations which did not meet the code exam coverage requirements. This relief request is in response to a commitment made in l
Monticello LER 97-004 issued March 24,1997 titled " Failure to Submit Relief Requests for Limited Inservice Inspection Examinations."
