Inspection 50-352/87-24
This letter transmits the findings of the routine resident safety inspection by
Messrs. E. Kelly and S. Kucharski on September 23 - Octcber 31, 1987 at the
Limerick Generating Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania. The inspection consisted
of document reviews, interviews, and observation of activities, and the results
have been discussed with Mr. John Franz of your staff.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified and no response is required.
However, management attention is needed in evaluating the potential effects
of Unit 2 activities on Unit 1 operations as evidenced by the Unit 2 trans-
former fault reported in Licensee Event Report 87-45 which resulted in an
actuation of Unit 1 engineered safeguards features on August 30.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures
will be placed in the Public Document Room.
