Gentlemen:
This refers to the special allegation review inspection conducte'd by
.
Mr. G. L. Pirtle of this office on August 6 through November'.18, 1987, of
an allegation pertaining to an individual being onsite allegedly under the
influence of drugs on July 26, 1987, at the Zion Nuclear Generating Station',
Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-39 and No._ DPR-48'
and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. P. Laird and other members of
your staff on November 18, 1987.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a review of
your staff's investigation report and interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection and the allegation was not substantiated.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this let+2r and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
