The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by OIE staff as of 4:00 p.m. on the date of this notification. Facility: Point Beach 2, Wisconsin Electric Power Company and Wisconsin Michigan Power Company Subjeet: STEAM GENERATOR TUBE LEAK Wisconsin Michigan Power Company reported a primary to secondary leak ,

of approximately 0.3 to 0.4 spm in Unit 2 "B" steam generator. The leak became detectable at approximately 3:00 p.m. on 8/10/75 and had increased to the above rate by 7:00 a.m. on 8/11/75. A normal shutdown I was initiated at approximately 11:30 a.m., 8/11/75, falloking a subsequent  !

- slight increase in leak rate. No significant releases of radioactivity '

occurred as a result of the event. ,On 8/11/75, the resident inspector reviewed plant operations with the leak and no discrepancies were

( identified. The outage for steam generator inspection and repairs is expected to last from two to four weeks.

The licensee and IE:III (Chicago) issued a press release on 8/11/75.

NRC's resident inspector, D. C. Boyd, received notification of this occurrence from G. Reed, Plant Manager at 7:00 a.m. on 8/11/75.
