REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM LEAK & DAMAGED REACTOR COOLANT PUMP MOTOR BEARING A nonisolable leak in the Reactor Coolant System (RCS) was identified last night during plant heatup. The leak is in a socket welded elbow in a one inch delta P instrument line connected to one of the RCS cold. legs. The

. leak rate was less than one gallon per minute. The RCS has been cooled E55 down to make repairs. This is similar to the leaks reported on September 15,

_ = . 1975, and October 1, 1975. The caus'e of the leak has not been determined.

(' Additionally, the "A" Reactor Coolant Pump Motor Guide Bearing was determined to be damaged and will require replacement. These events will cause a four or five day delay in the licensee's scheduled date for initial criticality.

An inspection by a Region I specialist will be conducted to review the licensee's investigation and corrective actions concerning the leaks prior to initial criticality.
