DAMAGED RELIEF VALVE PIPE RESTRAINTS IN TORUS 4

The licensee reported that during a planned inspection of the status of piping and restraints in the torus, two out of four relief valves discharge pipe restraints were observed to be damaged to the extent that parts of the restraints are missing. A more detailed inspection will be' performed on-10/3/75 as water. level is further reduced. A piping flexibility analysis M
is in progress. This event will be reviewed during an inspection previous-ly scheduled for 10/6/75.

Media interest is expected because of close press attention to Pilgrim activities. The State of Massachusetts has been and is being kept informed'.
