Contamination of Two Instrument Technicians

Our Region IV (Dallas) Office was notified on April 30, 1975, that two instrument technicians were contaminated to a maximum level of 3000 dpm while performing maintenance activities on a pressurizer level sensing line, within the containment building, at the Fort Calhoun facility

The facility was preparing to resume operation, following a refueling I

outage, and the reactor coolant system was at operating pressure and temperature at the time of this event.
It was reported that the

l individuals involved did not receive thermal burns.

Center, was initiated.
