' Monthly Update on Progress of Seismic Upgrades to Buildings C-331 and C-335
Dear Mr. Pierson:
By letter dated April 15,1998, (Reference 1) USEC committed to provide a monthly update on the progress of the installation of the seismic upgrade modifications to Buildings C-331 and C-335, beginning May 15,1998.
The enclosure to this letter provides the progress ofinstallation of these modifications through June 30,1998. At this time, no issues have been identified which wouldjeopardize meeting the June 30, 1999 completion date. As described in our letter dated March 27,1998 (Reference 2), transmitting the revised Issue 36 to the Comp 2iance Plan, Amendment 15 to the Certificate of Compliance GDP-1 reduces the time originally determined by USEC to be required for implementation of the seismic modifications to Buildings C-331 and C-335 from 18 months to 15 months. USEC will, however, proceed on a best-effort basis to complete the modifications by June 30,1999.
