- SCHEDULE FOR SEISMIC UPGRADES TO BUILDINGS C-331 AND C-335 ~

Dear Mr. Miller:

In accordance with Amendment 15 to Certificate of Compliance GDP-1 for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant transmitted to you via letter dated March 20,1998, seismic structural modifications to Buildings C-331 and C-335 must be completed by June 30,1999. To support the staff review of the amendment request, you provided a schsdule showing major milestones

,i for completing the seismic upgrades, which the staff reviewed and found to be reasonable.

Although that schedule called for completing the modifications by June 30,1999, it also called for initiating steel installation well before ' June 30,1999.

The staff requests that you provide an updated construction schedule by April 15,1998, showing intermediate major milestones to be met in order to complete the modifications by June 30,1999.

Further, the staff requests that you provide a monthly update, on the progress of the instellation of the modifications, identifying any problems that mayjeopardize meeting the June 30,1999 '

completion date; The monthly updates should be submitted by the 15th of each month and describe the construction progress made during the previous month; The first update should be provided by May 15,1998.
