SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-483/98-14
Dear Mr. Randolph:
From June 29 through July 2,1998, a routine, announced inspection was conducted at your
Callaway Plant reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that
inspection.
One performance weakness was identified during the simulator walkthroughs, as discussed in
Section P4 of the enclosed inspection report. The weakness involved the failure of one crew to
classify an alert condition in a timely manner. Accordingly, you are requested to provide this
office with a description of your corrective measures and your schedule for completing these
actions within 30 days after receipt of this letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them
with you.
