SUBJECT:
IE Bulletin 85-03 dated November 15, 1986 By Reference 3, Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) committed to prepare and implement a procedure prior to the end of the 1987 refueling outage to prove valve operability. Accordingly, special procedure SP-SI-HPSI was prepared and implemented to ensure that each of the valves which were defined to be within the scope of IE Bulletin 85-03 operated properly at the maximum expected dif-ferential pressure.
One (1) HPSI pump was started and each valve was individually cycle tested.
Each valve cycled from closed to fully open and back to fully closed against the pressure produced by the pump.
l The completion of the operability tests, added to information reported by References 3 and 5, completes OPPD's response to IE Bulletin 85-03.
Region IV has reviewed OPPD's activities taken in response to IE Bulletin 85-03 and has closed this item.
