NRC Region III recently received an allegation concerning one of your employees and your fitness for duty program.
The allegation involves unsubstantiated information that indicates an individual may have been onsite while under the influence of drugs. The details of the allegation are included in the enclosure to this letter.
The enclosure to this letter should be strictly controlled and distribution limited to personnel only with a "need-to-know" to protect the personal privacy of the individual while your review is in progress.
The enclosure to this letter is considered as Exempt from Pubidc Disclosure in accordance with Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 2.790(a)(7).
We request that the Commonwealth Edison Company fully analyze the allegation, inititte what you determine to be an appropriate investigation, and take any action you determine necessary.
We also request that the results of your review and disposition of this matter be submitted to us within 30 days after receipt of this letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter, excluding the enclosure, will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
The response directed by this letter is not subject to the clearance procedure of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL-96-511.
