ISOLATION OF CO2 SYSTEMS 1

Various CO zones were isolated in order to perform preventive maintenance j
2 and repairs.
They were not restored to operable status within the 14 days

specified in the Rancho Seco Technical Specifications.
In accordance with Technical Specification Sections 3.14.4 and 6.9.5.E the Sacramento Municipal Utility District hereby submits Special Report 87-22 describing the problem, i

corrective action taken, and schedule for restoring the-systems to operable status.

Identification of Occurrence The following CO zones were not restored'to. operable status within 14' days' 2
as specified in Technical Specifications Section 3.14.4.

Description of Occurrence On September 29, 1987, the CO2 zones' listed above were' isolated (removed from service) in order to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the1 system main isolation valve and various zone CO2 discharge selector valves.
l Corrective Action Taken l
Firewatches were established in accordance with Technical Specification Section 3.14.4.
The systems discussed above will be restored to operable i
status upon the completion of the preventive maintenance and modification activities scheduled for December 31, 1987.
