The following is a response to observations and recommendations made
during your January, 1987, Material Control and Accounting audit'.
ITEM 1: A programmatic type procedure will be written covering the
Fort St.
Vrain nuclear material
control
system.
This

procedure will refer to existing implementing procedures as -
described by ANSI N15.8.
ITEM 2: Training requirements will be either included or referred to

j
in the programmatic procedure.
!
ITEM 3: A nuclear material internal control system description will
be either included or referred to in the programmatic
procedure.
ITEM 4: A Health Physics sealed source inventory procedure will be

referenced by the -programmatic procedure and will
be
performed concurrent with other inventories. A commitment

to promptly report the results of sealed source inventories
l
to the Nuclear Materials Manager will be included in the
appropriate procedures as
well
as
proper.
