A routine safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise was

conducted by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members-of an NRC team on

September 8-10, 1987, at your Hope Creek Nuclear Generating . Station, Hancocks
Bridge, New Jersey.
Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Amato with
members of your staff at the conclusion of the exercise.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed. Within these areas,.the inspection
consisted'of selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation of the emergency exercise by team
members.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
Public
Service's performance during the exercise demonstrated the ability to
~
implement the Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures in a
j
manner that would provide adequate protective measures for the health and
safety of the public.
