Gentlemen:
VIRGINIA ELECTRIC-AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT 2 EXAMINATION EXEMPTION OF CERTAIN CLASS 2 VESSELS The North Anna Unit 2 Inservice Inspection Program is in accordance with ASME.
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section.XI,1974. Edition through the Summer 1975 Addendum.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(4)(iv), we propose to 'use a portion of a subsequent edition and addendum of the _ Code, the 1983 Edition-J through the Winter 1983 Addendum.
IWC-1220(b) of the 1983 Edition allows the exemption of certain vessels that operate at a presgure less than or equal to 275 psig and a temperature less than or equal to 200 F.
The vessels listed in the attachment are classified ASME Class 2 and during j
normal gperating conditions their pressure and temperature are below 275 psig and 200 F, respectively. We propose to exempt these vessels from' examinations for the remainder of the first inspection interval.
