Subject:

BOMB THREAT A bomb threat was received at the Stone and Webster switchboard at 8:10 a.m. on 10/6/76.

The caller was identified as an adult male who gave a very brief threat, stating that a bomb would go off at the plant before lunch.

It is believed that the call was placed from a telephone booth offsite, but the location is not linown.

g.3 A search is presently in progress,,with nothing found at the time of notification of OIE. Local and state law enforcement officials,

along with the FBI have been notified.

Six other similar bomb threats have been received at North Anna in 1976. North Anna Unit No. 1 is approximately 93% complete and Unit 2 is nearing 76% completion.

A press release is not planned by the licensee or NRC.

NRC Region II received notification of the occurence by telephone from the Plant Manager, at approximately 9:25 a.m. 10/6/76.
