10 CFR PART 1 STATEMENT ON FUNCTIONS OF 0FFICE OF INVESTIGATIONS

Purpose:

- To amend the functions of the Office of Investi-gations in Subpart B of 10 CFR Part 1 in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.

Category: This paper addresses a minor policy issue.

Discussion: The Commission, on January 11, 1985, delegated authority to the Office of Invesitgations to issue subpoenas under Section 161c of the' Atomic Energy ,

,- Act of 1954, as amended. The Comission, at that time, directed that notice of this authority be added to the 01 Manual Chapter and to CFR Part 1.
