NRC Administrative Letter 98-03, Operating Reactor Licensing Action Estimates, dated May 6,1998 (GNRI-98/0063) requested licensees to voluntarily provide estimates of the number of licensing actions that will be submitted for the

remainder of Fiscal Year 1998 and Fiscal Year (FY) 1999. Entergy Operations is providing the estimated licensing action information by this letter for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. There are no planned licensing actions which will require complex reviews by the NRC for FY 1998 or 1999. Grand Gulf Nuclear Station will submit

four Technical Specification amendment requests in FY 1998. One involves final t

resolution of reactor core stability issues. Another involves relaxation of secondary containment requirements during movement of recently irradiated fuel (previously submitted in a letter dated November 9,1994, GNRO-94/00131). The last two involve fuel loading while multiple control rods are withdrawn and fuel movement in-vessel while refuel interlocks are inoperative. The table on the following page represents an estimate of licensee-originated licensing actions for GGNS:
