This letter addresses the inspection of your facility at Olathe, Kansas conducted by K. R. Naidu and J. C. Stone of this office on August 5-7, 1987, and the discussions of their findings with you and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of the inspection was to review the actions taken by you to correct the setpoint drift experienced in your differential pressure switches,

and to review the diaphragm inaterial. selected for use in pressure switches to
)
prevent any adverse reaction to ammonia present in the medium. During this l
.j.
inspection, the implementation of your quality assurance program was verified in selected areas. Areas examined during the NRC inspection and our findings j
are discussed in the enclosed report. This inspection consisted of an examina-i tion of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and 1
observations by the inspectors, j
.During this inspection it was found that the implementation of your QA program failed to meet certain NRC requirements. Specifically, the inspec-tion identified that inadequate QC inspections were performed to verify j
that components were being inspected to the correct revision of the drawing.

identified in the enclosures to this letter.
Please provide us within 30 days from the date of this letter a written statement containing:
(1) a description of steps that have been or will be taken to correct these items; (2) a description of steps that have been or will be taken to prevent recurrence; and (3)thedatesyourcorrectiveactionsandpreventivemeasureswereorwill be completed. We will consider extending the response time if you can show good cause for us to do so.
The responses requested by this letter are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
