NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-424/98-04 AND
--50-425/98-04 AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. McCoy:
On May 16. 1998, th'e NRC completed an inspection at.your Vogtle Units 1 and 2
reactor facilities. The enclosed report presents the results of that-
inspection.
During the 4-week period, your conduct of activities at the Vogtle facility
was; generally characterized by safety-conscious operations. sound engineering
and maintenance practices, and appropriate radiological work controls.
Based on 'the results of this inspection, certain of your activities a]peared
to be.in violation of NRC requirements, as'specified in the enclosed Motice of.
' Violation (Notice).

The violations' are' cited.in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice), and the
circumstances surrounding the violations are . described in detail in the
l-
enclosed report; Please note that you are required to respond to this letter
and should follow' the. instructions specified in the enclosed Notice when
preparing your response. The NRC will use your response, in part, to
determine whether further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance
with regulatory requirements.
