I approve the staffs recommended actions. I tend to agree that revisions to the policy statement should be considered, but due to the several significant issues that require i
further study, it is appropriate for the staff to defer consideration of modifying the policy statement for at least one year.
j The staff has also indicated that actual modification of the policy statement could be I
resource intensive. I believe that those resources can be better utilized for higher priority issues, particularly at this time. Finally, the fact that there does not appear to be any urgency or safety basis requiring immediate revision further argues for a delay.
