The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that Duquesne Light Company has obtained membership to the Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG) as of June 1, 1987.

Therefore, based on the guidance provided in the April 28, 1987, letter to Mr. N. P. Smith of SQUG from Mr.

E. Murley of the NRC, Duquesne Light Company will provide a

schedule for implementation of a

seismic verification program for Beaver Valley Unit 1 by December 1, 1987.
