' This letter transmits for information the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Material Condition Improvement Action - Plan (MCIAP) as requested at the management meeting (87-28) held at Region I on n

June 29, 1987.

The MCIAP establishes a program to improve the~ material condition and the overall quality of maintenance at Pilgrim. Nuclear Power Station.

The MCIAP provides the results of a maintenance self-assessment conducted by Boston Edison with -the Institute of Nuclear Power. Operations and experienced consultants from' the industry.

A detailed schedule of implementation is included in the plan.
