This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. G. A. Pick of this office during

the period September 28 through October 2, 1987, of activities authorized by
NRC Operating Licenses DPR-51 and NPF-6 for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1

and 2, and to the discussion of our findings with members of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.

The principle area examined during the inspection was the verification of
I
licensee commitments to Regulatory Guide 1.97 conformance for Unit 2.
Within
this area, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the NRC
inspector.
The inspection findings are documented in the enclosed inspection
report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously
identified inspection findings.
The status of these items is identified in
paragraph 2 of the enclosed report.
