Subject: Inspection No. 50-29/87-06
This transmits the April 27, 1987 - July 20, 1987 resident inspection findings
by Mr. H. Eichenholz of this office at the Yankee Nuclear Power Station, Rowe,
Massachusetts. Those findings were based on observation of activities,
interviews, independent measurements and document reviews, and have been
discussed with Mr. N. St. Laurent of your staff.
Our inspector also reviewed the corrective actions taken in response to the
Notice of Violation enclosed with our letter to you dated May 12, 1987,
concerning the inadequate reviews associated with a temporary change request
that was implemented on February 18, 1987 and resulted in the inadvertent
actuations of safety injection and nonessential containment isolation systems.
We have no further questions regarding your actions.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
