The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Facility: Florida Power and Light Company Turkey Point 3, 4 (DNS 50-250, 50-251)

Subj ect: Turkey Point was Alleged Bombing Target A pretrial hearing involving Rolando Otero in a U. S. District Court in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 12, 1976, revealed that informants had told the FBI that Otero tried in October 1975 to get explosives from an anti-Castro terrorist group to use at Turkey Point. The FBI stated that Otero was unsuccessful and never tried t'o make the attack. It was not explained.why Turkey Point was an alleged bombing target.

ole received notification of this alleged bombing threat by telephone from a Region II inspector onsite on 8/13/76. The inspector learned of the incident from a radio broadcast and newspaper article. FPL stated they also learned of the incident through the media. ,

IAT was notified at 10:30 a.m. 8-12-76.
