On February 2, 1989 channel No. 3, Upper Head, of.the Unit 1 Vibration and Loose i

Parts Monitor System was dociated inoperable. The reason for the channels

'inoperability is not known.

Channel No. 4 is still operable on the Upper Head so a redundant channel is still in operation. Work Request 446680PS was written to

Investigate and repair the channel. The repair is scheduled for the next refueling outage. Since the channel has been inoperable more than 30 days, this is reportabic to the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
