< MCVAPCO) requested relief from certain inservice inspection requirements at ethe Haddam Neck Plant. Specifically, CYAPC0 requested relief from the out-

The staff his completed its review of the licensee's r? quest and its. supporting p informaMor/and has concluded that relief may be. granted from the; stated re- l qubement provided that the licensee can demonstrate that the licensee's proposed reactor vessel examination is capable,of detecting surface-connected l flaws on the OD. A copy of the Safety Evaluation,. including staff conditions, is enclosed. l The staff also concludes that granting relief where the Code requirements are impractical is' authorized by law and will not endanger life or property, or the ccmmen defer.:e and :ecurity, and is otherwise in the public interest considering the burden that could result upon Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company if these requirements were imposed on the'Haddanf Neck Plant. Accordingly, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3) of the Comission's regulations, Connecticut Yankee  !
