Re: . HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION We have completed our review of your submittals ' dated May 21,1985, April 2 and July 14, 1987 describing how'the Hope Creek alt.ernate rod injection (ARI) system, anticipated transient without scram reactor coolant recirculation pump trip (ATWS/RPT) and standby liquid-control (SLC) systems meet the requirements of the'ATWS Rule (10 CFR 50.62). We have concluded, based on the information i provided in these ,submittals, that. Hope Creek-is currently in compliance with the ATWS rule requirements for the ARI and ATWS/RPT systems. ~We have also concluded i. hat, with the implementation of the Technical Specification change concerning the SLC system proposed in your July 14, 1987 submittal, Hopc Creek will-be in compliance with the ATWS Rule requirements _for the SLC system. A

l We are issuing an amendment by separate letter that will revise the Technical ]
