This transmits the inspection findings by Mr. N. Dudley of this office at the

Yankee Nuclear Power Station, Rowe, Massachusetts during the week of

August 31, 1987. These findings were based on the review of the licensec- .;

operator training program and were discussed with you on Sept wber 2, .'.987.

This inspection determined that major improvements had occurred in the

administration and conduct of the licensed operator training program over t,e

previous two months. Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were j

observed.

Because of a temporary suspension of NRC administration of requalification

examinations, the requalification examinations previously scheduled for tne j

week of November 9, 1987, will not be conducted. l
