our.. findings with Mr. T. Koehler and others of your staff at the conclusion of

, the: inspection.

The purpose of this inspection was to determine if design changes and

modifications were being conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements.

_The. enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective-

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

'No violations of NRC requirements were-identified-during the course of this

inspection; however, we request that you respond to the open item identified

in Paragraph 2.a.(5) of the attached inspection report. Your response should

include a copy of the 10 CFR 50.59 evaluation.

During this inspection a violation of 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.59 was

identified in that a required safety evaluation was not performed. Since this

appeared to be an isolated violation and you have taken effective generic

action in improving your implementation of this regulation, no Notice of

Violation is being issued in accordance with the criteria of 10 CFR Part 2,

Appendix C,Section V.A. We request that you submit a copy of the completed

evaluation.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of.

this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC

Public Document Room,
