Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 NRC Bulletin No. 88-04

" Potential Safety-Related Pump Loss" NRC Bulletin 88-04 dated May 5,1988 requested all licensees to investigate and correct as applicable two concerns about safety-related pump minimum recirculation flow. GPUN responded to the bulletin by letter dated July 11, 1988. Our letter stated a-follow-up report would be submitted after obtaining verification from the pump suppliers that current minimum flow rates are adequate to prevent pump damage.

Please be advised that pump suppliers have verified the adequacy of existing minimum flow rates for the safety-related pumps at Oyster Creek. Although in our letter we confirmed the adequacy of the pump minimum flow rate for the Shutdown Cooling System (SDC), the SDC System is not within the scope of the bulletin and pump supplier verification for the SDC pumps was not pursued.

In summary, no corrective action is needed and this letter concludes our response to Bulletin 88-04.
