In our response to Generic Letter 87-12; Loss of Residual Heat Removal While the Reactor Coolant System Is Partially Filled, we indicated that the Westinghouse Owner's Group was developing a program to address Question 5 and that we would provide further information on=this question following the utility review.
This program has been reviewed and accepted by the utilities and includes:
1.
description of mid-loop operation 2.
fluid systems performance in mid-loop operation 3.
thermal hydraulics of the loss of RHR during mid-loop operation.
The current schedule is to complete the draft report by March 30, 1988 We will provide our completed response to Question 5 of Generic Letter 87-12 within 60 days of issuance of the final report developed by the Westinghouse Owner's Group.
