Vogtle Nuclear Plant that Cable News Network (CNN) was inquirying into an j
allegation by a former Pullman Power Products (PPP) boilermaker / welder that he was not trained or certified to perform the welding work he had accomplished at the Vogtle Nuclear Plant.
On June 23, 1983 the 01 Field Office, Atlanta, Georgia contacted the reporting investigator who was at the Vogtle site pursuing another matter. During this telephone conversation it was decided that 01 would obtain any readily available details of the alleged non-certification of welders at the Vogtle site and to inform the alleger that the NRC was available should he want to discuss this matter further.
