Inspection Number 50-336/89-01
This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. B. S.
Norris of,this office on January 3-6, 1939 at the Millstone Unit 2 facility'in
Waterford, Connecticut'of activities authorized'by NRC license No.DPR-65. Mr.
Norris discussed the results of the inspection with Mr. S. E. Scace of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these areas, the
inspection consisted'of. interviews with personnel, review of selected
procedures and records, and observations by the inspectors.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were observed.
However, your attention is directed to paragraph 2.9 of the enclosed report
which discusses an NRC identified concern relative to the coordination of the'
quality assurance audit and surveillance programs for Millstone Unit 2.
You
are requested to review this concern and provide a written. response within
thirty days of receipt of this letter indicating actions taken.or planned.
The~ response' requested by this letter.is not subject to the clearance
procedure of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
